The InfoFinland.fi website is maintained by the KEHA Centre. We respect the privacy of our users and process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You have the right to access your own personal data and to request the rectification or erasure of your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi) if you consider that your personal data is being processed in violation of the law.

What data is collected?

We collect data on the use of the site using cookies. In addition, we store the user's partial IP address, which is used solely to determine a rough geographic location (such as country or city) for statistical purposes.

The data is not combined with other information and is not used to identify individual persons.

Visitor tracking (Matomo)

We use visitor tracking on the site to develop the service and ensure its quality. Tracking is carried out using Matomo software. Through visitor tracking, we gather statistical information on, for example:

  • how many visitors the site has
  • which pages are used
  • in which languages the site is used
  • how long visitors stay on the pages
  • which devices and browsers are used

Data retention period

Collected visitor data is retained for 1 year, after which identifying data is automatically deleted.

Webropol surveys

The Webropol platform may be used on the website for feedback surveys. Surveys are conducted anonymously: IP addresses, response times, or other identifying data are not stored, and personal data is not requested in the questions.

Survey responses are used for the development of the online service and cannot be linked to individual users.

Cookies and consent

The legal basis for the processing of personal data is the user's consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)).

Visitor tracking is based on cookies and requires the user's consent. If you do not accept cookies, visitor tracking will not be carried out.

You can accept or decline visitor tracking in the cookie banner. You can change your preference at any time via the Cookie Settings link found at the bottom of the page.

The site contains links to other services. InfoFinland is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services or for the processing of personal data carried out by them.
